Sleepy Hollow Chamber of Commerce Monthly Meetings 2007
All meetings begin at 8AM unless otherwise noted.
Location space is needed for the regular monthly meetings of the Sleepy Hollow Chamber of Commerce. Light refreshments are provided by the host. Please indicate if you wish to host an evening meeting. If you would like to host a meeting but don't have the space, we may be able to arrange a space for you with you picking up the cost of the refreshments.

Historical Society Museum
The Historical Society Museum is at One Grove Street, Tarrytown. Open Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays 2 - 4 pm. Call 914-631-8374 for more information.
Copies of Images of America: Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow by MaryAnn Marshall and Sara Mascia are available for purchase at the Historical Society Museum.

First published in 1997, the 128-page book contains selected images of the community from 1609 until 1947. Members of both villages generously donated the photographs included to the Society. Priced at $19, the book may be picked up at the museum or mailed to interested parties. Call (914) 631-8374 for more information.

Senior Privilege is a free membership program for people 55 + that offers benefits and educational programs design to enhance life and health. Members also enjoy social gatherings and opportunities for day trips. For an application to join Senior Privilege, call 366-3223.

Senior Consultation Service
An expert Phelps/Mount Sinai geriatrician conducts a comprehensive health evaluation and consults with the patient, his family, and personal physician to formulate a healthy living plan.

Memory Loss Program
A healthy evaluation by a geriatrician is followed by in-depth memory testing by a neuropsychologist from The Mount Sinai Medical Center.

Phelps and Mount Sinai are conducting research studies about memory and healthy aging. Some patients with Alzheimer's Disease are participating in drug trials, receiving access to the latest medications under investigation.

Nursery School Morning Program at the Family YMCA at Tarrytown, 62 Main Street.

9 am - 11 :55 am, ages 3-4. The YMCA Nursery School is designed to give each child the opportunity to learn and grow through specialized activities. A 5:1 child to teacher ratio with a maximum of 15 children per class is maintained at all times. Activities include recreational swimming, art, dance, gym time, learning circle time, story time, choice time, computer time and snack time. Fees: 5 Day Program (Mon-Fri) $350 per month, 3 Day Program (Mon, Wed, Fri) $280 per month, 2 Day Program (Tue, Thur) $190 per month. Our Preschool Program is designed to give each child the opportunity to learn and grow though specialized activities.  What's special about the Y program is our focus on character development and specialized activities.  The children participate in swimming lessons, clay classes, dance classes, Tumble Tots which is our preschool movement education program, circle time, story time, choice time, and are given a healthy snack each day.  The program runs Monday through Friday with the option of choosing 5 days, 4 days, 3 days or 2 days.  A morning program from 9 am - 11:55 or afternoon program from 2 pm - 4:55 pm are available.  A 7:1 child to staff ratio is maintained in our three's room and a 8:1 child to staff ratio is maintained in our four's room.  For further information contact Susan Barak, Early Childhood Coordinator (914) 631-4807, ext 25.

TARRYTOWN SENIORS
Activities include luncheons, trips & parties. The seniors meet on the first and third Tuesday of every month at the Neighborhood House. For information regarding additional activities please call 631-0205.

SENIOR CANTEEN
Senior citizens from Tarrytown, Sleepy Hollow and surrounding communities are welcome to join this friendly group Thursdays at 1:00 pm at the Neighborhood House. Activities include guest speakers, bingo and entertainment. Call 631-0205 for additional information.
The Tales of the Old Dutch Graveyard can be purchased at the Philipsburg Manor gift shop, Murray Frank's, and the Historical Society for $6.95. The 38-page walking tour booklet, revised in 1992 by the Friends, has back and white illustrations and a map of the burying ground. It is available for $10 (shipping and mailing included) by mailing checks payable to Friends of the Old Dutch Burying Grounds, Inc., 42 N. Broadway, Tarrytown, NY 10591.
